ADDY® Awards

The annual ADDY® awards program recognizes creative excellence in locally created advertising. The committee is responsible for the every component of the competition including call for entries, judges, the show book, presentation of the show, and coordination with District 5 and National ADDY awards competitions. Responsibilities include, yet are not limited to:

  • Determine deadlines for ADDY entries.
  • Work with Communications chair to write and distribute news releases for ADDY call to entries, event promotion and announcement of the winners.
  • Manage entry submissions and help collect entry fees.
  • Select an award vendor and award designs.


  • Select judging dates and venue.
  • Recruit judges outside district and coordinate travel, food and lodging.
  • Work with Programs chair to organize a “Meet the Judges” event for members.
  • Coordinate assistance (members and students) throughout judging weekend.
  • Manipulate score sheets and forward gold and silver winners to award vendor.


  • Create and manage ADDY event budget.
  • Select award banquet/dinner venue and caterer.
  • Develop sponsorship opportunities.
  • Select show theme, décor (centerpieces, decorations, delivery and setup) and menu.
  • Coordinate design of invitations and slideshow, along with any other show/promotional materials.
  • Coordinate printing, mailing and emailing of materials.
  • Welcome guests to ADDY event.
  • Coordinate photography at the event.
  • Develop and distribute show book.


  • Announce winners and post the slideshow of winners on the club site.
  • Process winner auto-forwards to regional ADDY competition.
